Preparing Your Mix For Mastering

We'll do our very best to achieve the highest possible results from the audio you provide, however a competent mix-down is a prerequisite to any amazing sounding master. Following the information provided here will give a good foundation allowing us to take your song to its full potential, sounding as polished and professional as possible.

Audio Requirements

  • All files are to be 16, 24 or 32 bit wav/aiff files with a sample-rate of 44.1khz or higher (un-dithered).
  • At least 3db Headroom to keep peaks well away from 0db.
  • Naked audio only; no limiters, compressors, EQ, stereo widening or any processing on the master channel. This is essential to provide the balance and Dynamic Range required for us achieve an optimal master.
  • If the mix has been created against master channel processing it will usually need to be re-mixed, this will ensure it's still sounding as intended before submission - it’s recommended to mix without any processing from the start.

*Please Note*

If any of these requirements are not met you will be advised on how to amend the problem and asked to re-submit your mix. We will not attempt to master audio that does not reach our specification as we strive to provide the best possible service and cannot do so if these are not met.
